Shelly
passed her Delta Therapy dog certification test on 5-16-2010
at only 14 months old!!! We are very proud of her. Shelly
is also doing very well in agility.

Hi Pat, Here is a picture of Shelly in her
Delta scarf and name badge. We leave for Cape Cod Tues. We
are all very excited. It will be so special for special and
I to be recognized as I talk and she demonstrates the miracles
of animal assisted therapy and the human-animal bond. Take
care, Theresa, Mike and Shelly

5-16-2010 Well Pat, Our Shelly passed her
Delta Therapy Dog exam today in Indianapolis. She copped an
attitude for a bit because she just refused to lay down, but
eventually with my pleading voice, she laid down. She does
that all the time on command, she just didn't want to today.
The evaluator knew Mike and I because we had tested with her
before with three of our shepherds. She gave me some helpful
suggestions that I will follow up on. But none the less she
PASSED! I have to get the paperwork together and send it in.
12-1-09 Hi Pat, Shelly was amazing today! She
greeted a client in the waiting room by trotting up to him
and wagging her tail. He uses a scooter as his foot is in
a cast. She patiently waited for him to go first and followed
him into the therapy office. She sat by his side as he began
talking. As he became emotional Shelly gently put her front
paws on his chest and laid her head down. The client began
sharing his emotions with Shelly as she continued to comfort
him. She slowly eased her way into his lap and he held her
in his arms and told her, "You're just what I needed
today. Thanks Shelly." She gave him a gentle lick on
the cheeck and pressed her head into his chest. While I do
not encourage her to get into a client's lap, it seemed to
foster much sharing on the part of the client. The client
added, "Shelly knows I am struggling today....she just
knows." The magical power of pet therapy. The last client
this evening brought Shelly Christmas gifts because Shelly
has helped brighten her days as she has reflected on her therapy
sessions. The client shared, "When I think of Shelly,
I have to smile. My grief is lighter when I see her face.
She makes me laugh as I watch her play." This client
recently lost her mother. Shelly is a joy! Can't wait to see
more puppy pictures. Do I check the web site?
Thanks and have a great day!

10-12-09 Hi Pat, Shelly went
to work today with me and was thrilled to greet EVERYONE!
We will have to work on the barking when people walk in though
:). She made a thirty year old, who now is limited as a result
of a car accident, laugh and smile and relax. She made a teenager
laugh and he began talking as a result of Shelly listening
and looking at him and a 9 year old and Shelly played ball
today. He talked to Shelly about many things. It was a wonderful
day. Theresa, Mike and Shelly
